‘Measuring Tape Girl’ is an examination of self-image and indecisiveness. A young woman approaching her thirties turns to online video blogging as a means of expressing her doubts and fears. She creates an alter ego named ‘Measuring Tape Girl’, which she uses as a self-defense mechanism to measure herself against others. In a series of online video blogs, she measures herself for all the world to see. Before anyone can judge her and get a chance to reject or accept her, she has already rejected herself several times. She believes that the key to overcoming her issues with her own self image and indecisiveness is to create an alter ego who can become the embodiment of all her self-hatred and doubts.

‘Measuring Tape Girl’ wishes to create a new mental image of herself by looking within and transferring all of her hopes, dreams and mental anguish from her internal world to an online form where they can take on a life of their own. Measuring Tape Girl has had screenings at the Cannes Film Festival and the Montreal World Film Festival.
